How to Dial a Long Distance Phone Call

Learn how to make a long-distance call or a call outside of campus.

Note: Before you can make a long-distance (or off-campus) call, you must have a long-distance code: How to Request a Long Distance Code

IMPORTANT: If you accidentally call 911 in a non-emergency situation, do NOT hang up right away. Stay on the line, and tell the operator that you misdialed. You may be contacted by Security to confirm your status.

Instructions

1. Dial 51 + Phone Number (that you want to call)

Example: 51206-xxx-xxxx

2. You Will Hear a Long Beep. This means that you are ready to enter your long-distance code

3. Enter your long-distance code, followed by the pound(#) button. You should now be able to reach who you’re calling
