Hide/Show File Extension on Windows

Learn how to show or hide file extensions on Windows (applicable for Windows 7 & 10)

Instructions

1. Click on the Start menu.

2. Click on Control Panel.

3. In the Category drop down list, select either Large icons or Small icons to change the view in order to get to the Folder Options setting.

4. Open Folder Options.

5. Click on the View tab.

6. To show the extensions file in your computer uncheck the setting labeled Hide extensions for known file types.

7. Click on the Apply button then click OK.
