How to Connect Google Drive to Canvas

Before You Begin

This tutorial will guide you through how to connect your student email and Google Drive to your Canvas account. This will allow you to submit assignments directly from Google Drive and create/share documents with classmates.   • You will need access to your Canvas Account
  • You will need access to your Triton (Student) Account

Steps

  1. Log in to Canvas using your ctcLink credentials 

  2. On the left menu, select Account (Your profile picture), and then select Settings

  3. On the upper-right corner, under “Ways to Contact”, verify that your Triton Email is the default address (indicated by the filled-in star). If you need help changing the default email, follow the steps found on the How to Change Default Email on Canvas tutorial before continuing on the next step

  4. Under the Web Services section, select Google Drive. A dialog box will appear to verify that you want to authorize Google Drive. Select “Authorize Google Drive Access” to confirm 

  5. Select Allow to confirm that you want Canvas to access your Google Drive. You may be prompted to select which Google account you want to connect; follow the prompts to give access to Canvas

  6. Success! You have now connected your Student Google Drive to Canvas
